Recent amazing video of the incredible,162m superyacht Eclipse entering into Barcelona. The images were recently released by OneOcean Vell, a world class marina and home port for superyachts in the Mediterranean located in Barcelona.
The superyacht is owned by Roman Abramovitch, the Russian business man and owner of Chelsea football club. According to Forbes, Abramovich’s net worth in 2015 was US$ 8.3 billion (2015), making him the 12th richest person in Russia, and the 137th richest person in the world.
The Eclipse was the largest yacht in the world at her launch in 2010 at 126m with an estimated cost of €340 million, however now shadowed by the superyacht Azzam at 180m. The Azzam was commissioned by Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the president of the United Arab Emirates.
The Eclipse features a missile defense system, a submarine and multiple tenders. One of her most notable aspect’s is the 15m pool, that can be transformed into a dance floor.
Her exterior and interior were designed by Terence Disdale Design and her naval architect was Francis Design
She was built at Blohm + Voss in Hamburg, Germany, the only shipyard that competed with Lurssen in the built of Mega Yachts. However Blohm + Voss was purchased by Lurssen in recent weeks.
